For two days, September 6 to 7, the 8th Latin America Ports Forum will be held in Panama, an event that will bring together port authorities, shipping companies, infrastructure project developers, construction companies and officials to discuss business opportunities in the sector. port of Latin America.

This meeting, organized by Latam Ports, will bring together businessmen and officials from the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Central America. Discussion sessions will focus on infrastructure projects that will increase capacity in the region and how ports and terminal operators are adapting to the continuing changes seen in regional and global trade.

One of the most anticipated representations is the Peruvian delegation, led by the director of port projects at Proinversión, Ernesto Guevara, who will participate in the panel called “Port and Terminal Expansion Projects” in which he will present the progress of port investments. in Peru and the new projects that the Peruvian state entity has been promoting to further enhance the port development of the Andean country.

Currently, Proinversión has been promoting two port projects: New San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal, south coast of Peru and the Chimbote International Port Terminal north of Lima. Two self-sustaining private initiatives, under the modality of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) that will require an approximate investment of US$ 600 million.
