Panama Metro Line 3: Confirm award in Panama

The award of the contract to the Hyundai HPH Joint Venture Consortium was final, after resolving several claims presented in the bidding process for the design and construction of Metro Line 3.
 
Héctor Ortega, director of the Metro de Panamá, SA, announced that on February 4 the resolution confirming the award to the HPH Joint Venture Consortium (integrated by the Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.) of the Bid for Better Value with Separate Evaluation for the construction and commissioning of Line 3 of the Metro.
 
The statement from the Presidency of Panama states that "... The HPH Joint Venture Consortium was the one who presented the best technical and economic proposal for a total amount of two thousand five hundred seven million four hundred thirty nine thousand US dollars with 00/100 (US $ 2,507,439,000.00), which includes the amounts of provisions of fixed amount and of the Nominated Subcontractor, and for the financing option the sum of three hundred three million five hundred seventy-two thousand six hundred seventy-two US dollars with 00/100 (US $ 303,572,672.00) , without State Guarantee. "
 
The tendered project will be developed under the turnkey scheme, will have a route of 26.7 kilometers with 14 stations and will use the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal to cross into West Panama.
 
Metro Line 3 will have 25 kilometers of high length and will travel in 45 minutes the 14 stations from Albrook to Ciudad del Futuro, saving two hours of travel. It will have 28 trains of 6 cars, the technology used will be a monorail, consisting of six cars each train with capacity for about 1,000 passengers and the construction will be executed in a period of 54 months.
