Panama: Visa Restricted to Stamped for China

Publicado el 02-10-2017

The President of the Republic of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, announced that citizens of the Popular Republic of China will have to get a stamped visa to enter the country.

The president, who was in an act of promotion of 392 agents of the National Air Service, explained that the idea of giving the visas stamped is because they take from 24 to 48 hours to be expended and only cost USD $50.00.

He cited as an example the case of Cuba, whose citizens are also required such visas, which have allowed more Cubans to come to Panama to compare in the Colon Free Zone.
Currently, Chinese citizens have restricted visas that are processed in a long and complex process, while with the stamped visa the process will be speeded up, explained a Foreign Ministry source.

The change of visa to Chinese citizens is part of the new diplomatic relations between China and Panama.
