Business leaders urge confidence building to boost investment and employment in Panama

Panama at a Key Moment to Boost Growth and Attract Investment

The Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (CCIAP) has stressed that the country is at a decisive point to consolidate a new cycle of sustained development. Restoring and strengthening confidence, they emphasized, will be crucial to attracting greater investment and generating new jobs.

According to recent projections from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Panama is among the economies with the strongest growth prospects in the region. This positive outlook has been reinforced by recent developments, such as the announcement of two new European companies establishing operations in the country.

“When the world trusts Panama, doors open: investment arrives, jobs are created, access to credit is facilitated, and our products and services face fewer international barriers,” stated CCIAP President Juan Alberto Arias Strunz.

The Chamber highlighted Panama’s competitive advantages, including:

  • Strategic geographic location

  • Strong logistical and digital connectivity

  • Legal security

  • Skilled human talent

  • Modern infrastructure

  • A committed business sector

However, the CCIAP noted that translating this trust into tangible results requires joint action from the private sector, government, industry associations, the financial system, and other stakeholders.

Upcoming Events to Drive Economic Activity

From March 10 to 12, 2026, Panama City will host five major international trade fairs:

  • Expocomer

  • Expo Logística Panamá

  • Expo Turismo Internacional

  • Expo Tech

  • Expo Eléctrica Internacional – Panamá

Later in the year, from October 23 to 25, 2026, the country will welcome World of Coffee, the world’s most prestigious specialty coffee event — marking its first-ever edition in Latin America.

The CCIAP concluded by reaffirming its commitment to national development:

“Our country is ready. From the Chamber, we continue to do what we must: facilitate, connect, build. Because when Panama wins, we all win.”
