Panama will invest $ 38 million in the first digital free zone

In Brisas de Golf, San Miguelito district, the country's first digital free zone will be installed, which will require an investment of 38.9 million dollars, in accordance with the projections made by the government of  Laurentino Cortizo.
 
The complex, which will be built over an area of 2.5 hectares, was presented to the Cabinet Council by Ramón Martínez , Minister of Commerce and Industries, who explained that in a first stage the private company will invest 10.6 million dollars, and in the future they will be allocated another 28.3 million dollars.
 
The Government revealed that they already have structured the financing figure of this free zone, which would be in charge of the international Bank of China, and the Panamanian Global Bank.
 
In the explanatory statement, Martínez explained that the infrastructure (called BPO Panama-Free Zone) will include a data center with servers and computer infrastructure designed by the Huawei company. In addition, it will have a central building and eight office buildings, aparthotel and a higher technical institute specialized in education and training in high technology and telecommunications.
 
The complex will have an auditorium, internal computer and telecommunications network connected to submarine fiber optic cables.
 
In the free zone specialized digital services, E-Commerce , blockchain , data center , clouds and digital networks will be provided.
 
Physical and virtual space for offices of local and international companies that operate in the global market providing specialized digital services, such as administrative outsourcing processes, operation of global platforms and electronic commerce. As well as digital management of global value-added chains.
