11 million 704 thousand 671 tourists' entered Panama

Between July 2014 and March 2019, 11 million 704 thousand 671 tourists entered Panama through the different ports of entry to the country, informed the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP).
According to the ATP, this represented an increase of 978 thousand 353 tourists in relation to the period between January 2009 and June 2014, when they visited the country 10 million 726 thousand 318 tourists.
"We focus on concrete actions to promote both domestic and international tourism, through tourism campaigns, fairs abroad, promotion of the destination on digital platforms and support for national fairs, cultural events and conferences," said Gustavo Him, administrator of the ATP.
He said that in this five-year period, Panama strengthened its air connectivity to Europe, which affected the increase in visits. By the Tocumen International Airport entered one million 172 thousand 263 European tourists.
The ATP informed that the work vision has been to promote Panama as an ideal country to visit, live and do business, in order to attract more tourism.
