Panama Tourism Authority launches App and social networks for Chinese market

According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), China is the largest emitter of tourists in the world and it is expected that in 2020 the number of Chinese travelers going abroad will reach 200 million.
The Tourism Authority of Panama today launched the VisitPanama application and the social networks of VisitPanama for the Chinese market , in which it has high expectations after the establishment in June 2017 of diplomatic ties with the Asian giant.
The launch of technological tools will be made in the framework of the celebration of the International Day of Tourism , which this year has as its theme "Tourism and digital transformation," said the governing body of the sector in Panama.
According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO) , China is the largest emitter of tourists in the world and it is expected that in 2020 the number of Chinese travelers going abroad will reach 200 million.
The Chinese tourists also lead the ranking of travelers spenders when traveling abroad. In 2016 they spent 261 billion dollars, 12% more than the previous year, according to the international organization.
On April 5, Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela received the first direct flight of Air China , which connects Beijing with Panama City , and affirmed that this "historic" flight "marks a milestone in the new chapter of national aviation and tourism "between the two countries.
Varela said on March 19 that in 2017 only 22,000 Chinese tourists arrived in the country and that the goal set by his Government is for this figure to rise to 50,000 this year and 150,000 in 2019.
