Panama: Public Investments for 2018

The 2018 budget that the Varela administration will submit to the Assembly includes $325 million for Metro Line 2 and $115 million for cleaning of the Bay area, among other things.
From a statement issued by the Presidency of Panama:
The Cabinet Council approved on Wednesday the Law on the General Budget of the State for the fiscal year of 2018, whose amount is B /.23,397.1 million, representing an increase of 7.9% compared to the year 2017.
The bill will be presented on Thursday to the National Assembly. President Juan Carlos Varela indicated that the Bill for the General Budget of the State of 2018 allocates B /. 9,861.9 million for the development of social services that will allow for a continued reduction of poverty and extreme poverty and will improve the living conditions of all Panamanians.
