Panama & China begin new era

This Sunday, September 17 opened officially the headquarters of the China Embassy in Panama

It was opened by the Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi, the Panamanian President Juan Carlso Varela during a visit official two days which seeks to encourage more than 20 bilateral agreements on issues such as cooperation, tourism, aviation, maritime and many more.

"The establishment of diplomatic relations will be fruitful and will achieve progress in the areas of tourism, education, trade, logistics, migration and transport; among others, are fundamental pillars of our bilateral relationship", said Varela.

Currently, Panama and China have more than twenty (20) bilateral instruments in negotiation, which through the opening of the new Embassy will be agreed upon and signed short term.

"It starts a new era in which we must be more United than ever for the welfare of our peoples. The geographical distance will not be hindrance to constitute us as allies", pointed out the Panamanian head of State.

For his part, Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated the importance of further progress in the agreements that will strengthen the relationship between the two Nations, which constitute the basis of the bilateral agenda between the two countries.

Soon, the Panamanian Government will perform the opening of new consulates in the Eastern nation, which will be established in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
