Dominican Republic, who had surpassed Panama, will grow 5.3% to the second place according to the information given Thursday 3 August the Secretariat Ejecutiva de Cepal, Alicia Bárcenas at press conference in the city of Santiago de Chile.

"Panama the truth is that it is a country that continues to prop up investment with great force both public and private, therefore its growth has been sustained" said Barcenas.

"Panama the truth is that it is a country that continues to prop up investment with great force both public and private, therefore its growth has been sustained" said Barcenas.

According to ECLAC which has been observed within the economic cycle is that consumption has been comprehensive and lasting, but has not had the same behavior the investment based on what they see as very important that growth be sustained.

"In those economies where investment has not played a marginal role, such as Panama, we see that growth if it can be held" Barcenas said.

He added that the dynamics of exports is more linked to prices than to a more diversified production structure.

The Agency said that he maintains its projection of average regional growth at 1.1% for Latin America.
