President José Raúl Mulino met with Jason Rekate, Global Head of Corporate Banking at Citi Bank, who emphasized Panama’s strong potential to become a leading regional hub for investment and infrastructure development.
During the meeting, Rekate expressed the U.S. bank’s interest in supporting strategic national projects, including the Panama–David Railway, new mega port developments, and an interoceanic gas pipeline, all part of the Panamanian Government’s economic growth agenda.
Citi Bank reaffirmed its confidence in Panama’s economic stability and financial system, underscoring the country’s strategic geographic location and favorable business environment for foreign investment.
These discussions strengthen ties between the Panamanian Government and international financial institutions, reinforcing the nation’s position as a strategic gateway for major infrastructure and investment initiatives in Latin America.
