The European Union (EU) will establish an embassy in Panama, which will be a 'strategic step for the strengthening' of ties between the 28-nation bloc, Panama and the region, official sources said yesterday. The agreement that specifies the installation of the diplomatic delegation was signed by the Panamanian Vice President and Foreign Minister, Isabel De Saint Malo, and the Executive Director for the Americas of the Foreign Action Service of the EU, Edita Hrdá, informed the Chancellery of Panama. The agreement was signed by the high officials in the framework of the XXVI Summit of Heads of State and Government held in the Guatemalan colonial city of Antigua.
