Panama and China: Friendship and Cooperation Relationship

"China highly values ​​your relationship of friendship and cooperation, on an equal footing, of respect and mutual benefit with the Republic of Panama," said the ambassador of the People's Republic of China on the isthmus, Wei Qiang.

Wei, who gave a speech during the celebration for the founding of the People's Republic of China, said that his country remains firm "in its best disposition to continue improving mutual understanding and trust" between Panama and China.

He added that the desire is to strengthen the relationship between both nations and seek real benefits in the end, "for both peoples and in search of a better world."

The diplomat recalled that the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, urges "union, dialogue, consensus and peace."

Wei also stressed to those attending the event, where there were Chinese and Panamanian artistic presentations, that "China will remain open, every day more wide open, to the outside world, and continue to contribute as it is due to peace and global development" .

He recalled that the face of the People's Republic of China, after 69 years of its founding and 40 years of reform and opening up, continues to change.

"In the Chinese face, therefore, there is no arrogance or arrogance or hegemonic zeal or interventionist mood, or even less pedagogical vocation towards other countries in terms of the political, economic or diplomatic course to take," he said.
