The inter-annual monthly variation of April 2018, was 4.64%, compared to the same month of the previous year. In the period of January-April, the main categories of economic activity that showed a positive behavior were: trade, transport, storage and communications, public administration, fishing and electricity and water.

Commercial activity, one of the categories with greater weight in the economy, was driven by the demand of local commerce and the Colon Free Zone.
