The economic activity index recorded an annual increase of 4.6% in November, mainly due to the activities of Trade and Transport and communications.

The Monthly Economic Activity Index (IMAE) in the Republic for January-November 2016, measured in terms of the original series in 1996 prices, grew by 4.42 percent compared to the same period in 2015.
During that period, it was observed that the categories of economic activity which performed favorably were those of: trade, transport, storage and communications, financial, agricultural brokerage, construction, electricity and water, hotels and restaurants; mining and quarrying. The other activities achieved a favorable effect, but at a slower pace, with the exception of manufacturing, community activities and fishing which showed a decline.
